All our foster animals have been examined by a licensed veterinarian and have a clean bill of health prior to adoption. We strive to place our foster animals in the most suitable home that best fits the animal’s needs. All foster animals are spayed/neutered (appropriate age), current on vaccines, heartworm tested, FIV/FLV tested, and micro chipped. To consider adoption, an adoption application needs to be completed, reviewed, and approved.

SEEKING FOSTER HOMES....Please help us help them! We are currently seeking foster homes for the "special needs" animals that may need a little TLC before being adopted...If interested please fill out our online application: http://lapeersadoptables.org/foster-application/ It is best to live within reasonable driving distance to our veterinarian which is in Dryden and/or Romeo. A foster home is a temporary home for a canine or feline until a permanent home is found for the animal. LAA will provide all necessary supplies and medical care! Before you fill out the form, please make sure you meet these requirements: - Must be 21 years of age - If you rent your home you must have a consent form from your landlord to have a dog/cat. - All current owned dogs and cats in the home MUST be spayed/neutered if they are 6 months of age or older, unless there is a medical reason prohibiting it. - All current owned dogs and cats in the home are up to date on vaccinations. - You agree to a home visit by one of the LAA volunteers. You must agree to the following conditions: - Agree to have the foster pet wear some form of ID tag at all times (license, name tag, etc.) - Agree to never allow the foster pet to be off leash or roam when it is outdoors unless it is in a securely fenced in area. - Agree to have the foster pet reside in the home, not outside. - The foster dog/cat may not be left outdoors when you are not home. If you should decide to adopt your foster pet, an adoption application will need to be submitted and an adoption fee will be collected. Thank you for giving the homeless animals a chance!.
Subby is sponsored by his foster mom! This means his adoption fee is paid for and all of Subby's belongings go with him including a year's worth of Heartworm preventative! What a big goofball this fella is! At 75 lbs of muscle and lots of love he will entertain and be a great companion to keep someone company! Subby is one of a kind and a pure gentleman! He LOVES people! We had a DNA test performed on Subby and the results of his breed are American Staffordshire Terrier, Bulldog, and Boxer.... Did you know that the American Staffordshire Terrier won best in show for the Terrier group at the National Dog Show??!! We took Subby into our organization (April 2017) as a courtesy foster dog to help him get through his heartworm treatment which he had only a mild case. He flew through treatment with flying colors and had no complications. He is ready for a home of his own! He would love a walker, someone who enjoys the outdoors as much as he does......Also a fenced in yard or leashed walks only please (a zio line may be considered but NO ground tie outs!) Subby is very well behaved in the home and while out in public! Listens well and is excellent on leash and goes for 3 daily walks. He is GREAT with older children over 8 years old (due to his size and strength, this is best), loves to play with toys, and enjoys chewing on bully sticks or stuffed frozen peanut butter Kongs. Subby also loves mental enrichment activities such as treat dispensing balls, playing hide and seek with toys, nose work, and tearing apart boxes that are filled with goodies! Subby came to us and did not have basic manners so we have been working on this with him to increase his impulse control and making him a gentleman! Subby works best with all positive reinforcement training methods, no negative. Subby does know sit, down, stay, "leave-it", working on recall, focus, and drop it. He will sit at doors to come in and out, he will "wait" to be released to eat his food, and he loves to go for car rides and most of all the drive thru at McDonald's where he can receive a vanilla ice cream cone and chicken nuggets. This boy has been a WONDERFUL foster dog but it is time for him to find a family of his own! Subby is a 3 year old male that is fully vetted including current on heartworm and flea/tick preventative! House and crate trained (would do best with no long extended hours and would like being blocked off in an area of his own), and cuddles on the couch! Subby does like other dogs and enjoys going on buddy walks but tends to play rough and gets overstimulated so his love of people makes him a candidate for an only child and wants family all to himself! He choses people over playing with dogs....and that is not a bad thing as he behaves in public, just wants to be with people and have all the attention! No cats or small animals (such as birds, guinea pigs, etc...)please! If you are interested in this awesome fella please email us at LapeersAdoptables@yahoo.com as we would love to talk to you about this wonderful guy! Subby's adoption fee is **sponsored**! He also will be going to his new home with his crate, toys, food, etc....We will make sure this boy has a smooth transition and lifelong training is provided 🙂
COURTESY POST Woof! Hello! My name is Missy! I'm a big pretty girl looking for my forever family. When you come to meet me don't be surprised by my big bark. I just like to talk and I love trying to get attention. I can be a little shy at first, but I really do love people and will bond with you well, just take me for a walk and give me some treats and I'm all yours. I have to go to a home without other pets, I just don't want to share my family with any other furry critters. I am 6 years old and just want someone to spend my senior years with lots of love and fun. (and exercise so I can get to a healthier weight). I am currently living in boarding as I don't have a foster home but would really really really love one. Please consider me as your foster or forever dog! If you are interested in meeting or adopting Missy, please email us at LapeersAdoptables@yahoo.com
