All our foster animals have been examined by a licensed veterinarian and have a clean bill of health prior to adoption. We strive to place our foster animals in the most suitable home that best fits the animal’s needs. All foster animals are spayed/neutered (appropriate age), current on vaccines, heartworm tested, FIV/FLV tested, and micro chipped. To consider adoption, an adoption application needs to be completed, reviewed, and approved.

SEEKING FOSTER HOMES....Please help us help them! We are currently seeking foster homes for the "special needs" animals that may need a little TLC before being adopted...If interested please fill out our online application: http://lapeersadoptables.org/foster-application/ It is best to live within reasonable driving distance to our veterinarian which is in Dryden and/or Romeo. A foster home is a temporary home for a canine or feline until a permanent home is found for the animal. LAA will provide all necessary supplies and medical care! Before you fill out the form, please make sure you meet these requirements: - Must be 21 years of age - If you rent your home you must have a consent form from your landlord to have a dog/cat. - All current owned dogs and cats in the home MUST be spayed/neutered if they are 6 months of age or older, unless there is a medical reason prohibiting it. - All current owned dogs and cats in the home are up to date on vaccinations. - You agree to a home visit by one of the LAA volunteers. You must agree to the following conditions: - Agree to have the foster pet wear some form of ID tag at all times (license, name tag, etc.) - Agree to never allow the foster pet to be off leash or roam when it is outdoors unless it is in a securely fenced in area. - Agree to have the foster pet reside in the home, not outside. - The foster dog/cat may not be left outdoors when you are not home. If you should decide to adopt your foster pet, an adoption application will need to be submitted and an adoption fee will be collected. Thank you for giving the homeless animals a chance!.
COURTESY POST Woof! Hello! My name is Missy! I'm a big pretty girl looking for my forever family. When you come to meet me don't be surprised by my big bark. I just like to talk and I love trying to get attention. I can be a little shy at first, but I really do love people and will bond with you well, just take me for a walk and give me some treats and I'm all yours. I have to go to a home without other pets, I just don't want to share my family with any other furry critters. I am 6 years old and just want someone to spend my senior years with lots of love and fun. (and exercise so I can get to a healthier weight). I am currently living in boarding as I don't have a foster home but would really really really love one. Please consider me as your foster or forever dog! If you are interested in meeting or adopting Missy, please email us at LapeersAdoptables@yahoo.com
Taylor is a loving dog who would love a family of her own. She is a Boxer mix, approx 2-3 years old, spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. She knows commands and loves walks. She wears a harness and walks nicely on a leash. This girl came into rescue weighing only 36 lbs, head down, wearing her hard life like a coat of shame. After much TLC, medical care and good food she now weighs 50 pounds, has a happy smile, sweet personality and soft, shiny coat. No more head hanging for her. She is a fun and playful girl - smart, eager to please and loves to cuddle. She loves her toys and will do just about anything for a treat! She is house-trained as well. One of the best qualities Taylor has is that she loves to play and will occupy herself with toys (it is hilarious to watch her). She is also just as happy to chill out on her dog bed and be a couch potato! Taylor is being fostered in a family with 2 older kids and absolutely adores them. However, she can be shy of strangers and has a protective bark when she is unsure about a stranger approaching. Proper introductions to new people are important as she continues to build her confidence. Taylor also gets along with other dogs with proper introductions and is currently living in a foster home with 4 other dogs. She does best with more submissive dogs. A meet and greet is required for any household with other canine residents. She would also enjoy being an only dog in a home. She has not been exposed to cats. She does have a prey drive (chases critters), so any introduction to cats would need to be undertaken with extreme caution. Taylor really needs a fenced yard and a 5-6 foot fence would be best. She once lived as a tethered dog, left alone in a yard for long periods and did not prefer that. She also does best with an oversized kennel (she currently has one that is 54 long x 36 wide) or could be shut in a bedroom when left home alone. She is quiet in her kennel and patiently waits for her people to return. If interested in meeting this amazing girl, please email us at LapeersAdoptables@yahoo.com
