Lost & Found
Sometimes an animal can get displaced as accidents can happen. We have had success of reuniting displaced animals with their owners, whether it is by posting a picture on our Facebook page to alert the community to keep their eyes open for the running animal, creating a search party and physically searching for the lost pet, or passing out flyers in the area the animal had gone missing. We are here to help!
Lapeer’s Adoptable Animals does have live traps for loaning out to pet owners. We have a full size live trap that will fit up to a large sized dog and we also have traps that are used for felines or small animals. If you’d like to borrow one of our traps, there is a deposit required and a waiver that will need to be filled out. Our traps are for use in Lapeer County only!
As our organization does not charge fees for this service, please keep in mind that we are volunteers that do use our own gas, time, and expenses, therefore donations are greatly appreciated!!
As always the first and most important place to look for your displaced pet is at your local animal control! Please also alert local authorities and fill out a missing or found report at animal control so they are aware. Lapeer County Animal Control is located at 2396 W. Genesee Street, Lapeer. Contact number is 810-667-0236. Always check the surrounding county animal shelters as well!
